Do you know the fluorocarbon coating finish for Extruded Aluminum?

The basic process of fluorocarbon spraying:

Pre-treatment process: Degreasing and decontamination of aluminum → water washing → alkali washing (degreasing) → water washing → acid washing → water washing → chroming → water washing → pure water washing

Spraying process: spraying primer → top coat → overcoat paint → baking (180-250 ℃) → quality inspection

Multi-layer spraying process to three times spraying (referred to as three spraying), spraying primer, top coat and overcoat paint and secondary spraying (primer, top coat).

The purpose of pretreatment:

In the aluminum alloy profiles for spraying before the surface of the workpiece should be de-oiled and decontaminated and chemical treatment, in order to produce a chrome film, increase the coating and metal surface bonding and oxidation resistance, which is conducive to prolonging the service life of the paint film.

Primer coating:

As a closed substrate primer coating, its role is to improve the coating resistance to penetration, enhance the protection of the substrate, stabilize the surface layer of the metal, strengthen the adhesion of the topcoat and the metal surface, you can ensure that the color uniformity of the topcoat coating, the thickness of the paint layer is generally 5-10 microns.

Topcoat coating:

Top coat is a key layer of the spraying layer, is to provide the aluminum required decorative colors, so that the appearance of aluminum to meet the design requirements, and to protect the metal surface from the external environment of the atmosphere, acid rain, pollution erosion, to prevent ultraviolet penetration. Greatly enhance the ability to resist aging, topcoat coating is the thickest layer of paint spraying, paint thickness is generally 23-30 microns.

Varnish coating:

Shading paint coating, also known as varnish coating, the main purpose is to more effectively enhance the paint layer resistance to external erosion, protection of the topcoat coating, increase the metallic luster of the topcoat color, the appearance of a more distinctive color, brilliance, coating thickness is generally 5-10 microns. The total thickness of the three spray layer is generally 40-60 microns, special needs can be thickened.

Curing treatment:

Three spray layer generally need a second curing, aluminum into the curing oven processing, curing temperature is generally between 180 ℃ -250 ℃, curing time of 15-25 minutes, different fluorocarbon coating manufacturers , will be based on their own coatings, to provide the best temperature and time. Chlorocarbon spraying plant (curium oil plant) also have their own experience in the three spraying of the two curing to a curing.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Fluorocarbon Coating

advantages:

  • Weathering resistance – resistant to UV degradation, strong resistance to chalking, long term color and gloss.
  • Chemical resistance – resistant to acid and liquid alkali erosion and not subject to air pollution, acid rain.
  • Corrosion resistance – low permeability of corrosive particles in the air, can withstand the harsh environment for a long time without corrosion.
  • Mechanical properties – with excellent impact resistance, abrasion resistance and excellent film flexibility.

Disadvantages are:

  • High price
  • Harmful to workers’ health
